Even though we are working hard it is so exciting to see what is going on in the fiber world. We discovered a fairly new product, A loom in a tube. We plan on carrying it in the store. It is quite portable and easy to set up and use. This will enable us to give classes in basic weaving. The price for this great loom in under $90. There are all kinds of goodies and support you can get for this product too. We will be bringing it home. Hmmmm I wonder what else we will find we can't live without?A Dropped Stitchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11302293922205213145noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4370738252054274835.post-70104039300255515002010-01-21T14:16:00.000-08:002010-01-21T14:19:12.107-08:00Sock Classes Two socks toe up two circularsFeb 3 -- 3:30 sock class $50 includes book $35 if you already have the book $15 for a refresher. Joy will be teaching two classes of beginning knitting. The three week class will begin Monday, Oct. 12, at 6 pm. If nights don't work for you, there will be another class starting Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10:30. The class is $35. This is your chance to learn to knit. Remember if you get stuck before your next class date, bring it in. We will be glad to help you.

Needle tatting classes are coming up too. Nov. 11 and Dec. 9. The class is $30. 10:30-12:30. We'll post a reminder a little closer to the date.

New yarns are coming in, lots of them--everything from milk, to mohair, to cotton--coming from Alaska, Texas, and parts unknown. We have picked up some new lines, and are really excited to share them with you.

You have read about those square needles, and wondered about them? They should be here soon. They really are comfortable to use. Come on in and give them a try. There will be a pair cast on and ready for you to try in the shop.

We are going to have a knit along. There are only 5 kits for socks coming from Alaska. Each kit consists of yarn for three pairs of socks--one comes in October, one in January, and one in March. The yarn will reflect Alaska's seasons. One of the kits is already taken. If you're interested in the knit along for socks, let us know and we'll put you on the list. The cost for the three pairs and patterns (other surprises too) plus any help you might need is only $95.

Now on a more serious note. Recently we were mentioned in the rants of the PDN. This is something we never wanted to have happen and we sincerely apologize. All of our cutomers are very important to us, and we strive to give you the attention you deserve, whether you're in the shop, on the phone, or on the internet. There are times when we can't get to you right away, but certainly don't mean to ignore you. To the person who complained, we're sorry you felt you weren't getting the service you deserved. We're glad that you found a friendly shop. It is important that local yarn shops are supported by their community. Without that support, they go out of business. Hope you will give us a second chance.

Jean, Nora and JoyA Dropped Stitchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11302293922205213145noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4370738252054274835.post-82516872033171316692009-09-25T11:54:00.000-07:002009-09-25T11:56:22.367-07:00Well, as usual I goofed. You don't have to do this every knit row--every third or fourth row will do the trick.A Dropped Stitchhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11302293922205213145noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4370738252054274835.post-82256384050892668442008-10-12T12:34:00.000-07:002008-10-12T12:56:07.475-07:00A Dropped Stitch

A Dropped Stitch
A homey yarn shop in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains.
We love to knit, crochet, weave and spin. Check out their web site Universal Yarn Company. They have a great selection of yarns and patterns. We are able to get any of their products in about a week.
We carry Addi turbo needles, and we are excited to be carrying their new Addi turbo set. It has 3 different cable lengths and needles from 4-15. It took them awhile to come out with the product, but you can bet that it is quality. We expect to have them on our shelves in the next couple of weeks.
Most of our winter order is in, I think the only thing missing is our boot sock yarn.
We have 72 colors in Deluxe worsted. And we can order any amount that you want. We will have many of the colors in stock, This is also true for the chunky-- 32 colors in that line. This is a great wool, and wonderful to felt with.
