The helmet liner link is a free pattern for a helmet liner for our troops. They are not issued this item. They must be made out of 100% wool. Just hit that link and find out all about it and just how important it is.

Knitters Tip

If your stockinette stitch is biasing, knit through the back loop that will help staighten it out. You don't have to do this every knit row--every third or fourth row will do the trick.

A Dropped Stitch

A Dropped Stitch
A homey yarn shop in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains.
We love to knit, crochet, weave and spin. We really enjoy the friendships that have grown in this shop.
Our building is the old town hall of Sequim. It was moved to its present location, and after being renovated, we moved in a little over a year ago.

That is not where we began however. We opened 2 years ago Halloween, and haven’t looked back.
We like to participate in community efforts. Right now we have a sweater for bid at Safeway to help raise money for breast cancer research.
We carry mostly Universal Yarn, a pretty new yarn company, that actually cares about their customers, and their customers, customers. Check out their web site Universal Yarn Company. They have a great selection of yarns and patterns. We are able to get any of their products in about a week.
We carry Addi turbo needles, and we are excited to be carrying their new Addi turbo set. It has 3 different cable lengths and needles from 4-15. It took them awhile to come out with the product, but you can bet that it is quality. We expect to have them on our shelves in the next couple of weeks.
Most of our winter order is in, I think the only thing missing is our boot sock yarn.
We have 72 colors in Deluxe worsted. And we can order any amount that you want. We will have many of the colors in stock, This is also true for the chunky-- 32 colors in that line. This is a great wool, and wonderful to felt with. Shepherds Own is all new in natural colors.
Organic cotton is very important to some of you and we have it. I have worked with it quite a bit and love it. The drape is everything you would want in a garment and the feel is superior.

I could go on and on about our new yarns, but I will introduce a little at a time.
Classes have started and we are really pleased with the line up. Everything from crochet for kids to knitting with wire. We are especially proud of our sock classes --two socks on two circulars toe up. There is a blog out there called socks socks socks. Check it out and learn about this way of knitting socks. We also offer the traditional sock classes.
